Bear Back have been catering almost solely to the needs of the industry and media over Crankworx.
Not an unusual situation for us but great timing non-the-less as its given everyone chance to enjoy the show that is Crankworx!
Taking care of a chalet full of folks on completely random schedules with obligations and responsibilities changing by the minute, Wallace did a great job of not loosing it on everyone around due to somewhat unpredictable numbers at dinner and breakfast. That said, the vibe was great and everyone seemed to get the very best service they could from the superb staff we have!
Some of the highlights from this year's Crankworx week include a Heli Drop with Charley Boorman from Long Way Down/Long Way Round fame. Shooting for a new series 'Extreme Frontiers', they opted for Snow riding of the harmony ridge then into the bike park.
Charley managed to hold his own on the snow after all his experience of riding a moto across the sahara, in the bike park though the skills involved to ride a mountain bike were a little more intersting for him.
Our ever willing bike park support in the form of Mike Johnstone (always up for something fun) had Charleys riding dialled from watching the entirety of his African adventures and was blown away by how quickly he switched over to the gravity powered bike.
Easton launched their new downhill wheels and carbon dh bars with a little trip down to squamish with us, a photo shoot with DS (Dave Smith) resulted in some shots that Decline magazine are interested in - watch this space.
FSA/Gravity joined forces with Banshee and offered up a BBQ at the chalet for their VIP's,surf and turf washed donw with beer from Whistler Brewing company made for a relaxed evening away from the crankworx carnage.
Fun times as always and with a further week of industry in the Form of our Wheel sponsor DT Swiss and French Dam [Vergez] filming more episodes of the Fast Fokus series, its the quiet before the storm when we switch back over to package guests with huge arrivals this coming weekend!
