AltaVista Chalet
We've been working with the AltaVista Chalet for the last 10 years through both winter and summer. Summer 2009 saw Bear Back Biking move into the AltaVista as our main rider center for our Whistler Experience holiday ensuring that we could operate all 10 bedrooms as efficiently as possible - keeping our prices low and our value unbeatable!
With the 'AV' now representing a significant investment for Bear Back Biking, we're in the fortunate position whereby we have this property dialled in for our guests and ensure that it works perfectly as our bike specific catered chalet accommodation.
Just a short stroll to Alta lake and a pleasant walk along side Whistler golf course to the village, the location is superb.
With the XC trail network available in every direction from the front door and the bike park just a short 'warm-up' ride away we are ideally situated in one of Whistlers most accessible riding neighbourhoods.
The chalet is maintained daily by our chalet host and we have our guides on hand to answer any questions you may have about everything and anything - not just the incredible riding available throughout Whistler.
The chef takes care of the daily breakfasts and the home cooked and hearty evening meals on 5 days of the week whilst making sure there are post ride snacks available whenever possible.
Garage
As with any sport, having 'all the gear' is important and being that the AltaVista is our rider center, it stands to reason that we have all the gear you need to fix or fettle with you bikes. Thanks to Pedro's Tools we have a complete workshop area in the garage with everything from Allen keys to Y-wrenches.
The large double garage also acts as our secure bike storage with room for more bikes than we have room for guests.
Living Area
The Chalet features a large social living area with plenty of comfy sofas and makes for a great place to relax and chat about your day, or to just sit back with a book and have an easy day.
The summer in Whistler is superb and the AV makes the most of the abundant day time sun and warm evenings with its 2 large sundecks complete with bistro tables, seating and a 10 person hot tub. Relax with a 'soda' and sit and watch the world go by.
Dining Room
Breakfast and evening meals are served up in the spacious dining area that completes the open plan living area. large table mean that dinner can be as social as you like and the guides are on hand to help serve the much needed riding fuel that the chef has taken care in making.
Bedrooms
All 10 rooms are finished to a similar comfortable standard with 3 piece ensuite bathrooms in each room.
Sizes do vary and we have two rooms that will more than spacious enough for three sharing.
Our other rooms are king split rooms featuring two single beds that will make a king, or rooms with queen sized beds.
More than enough space to keep your clothes away from your riding gear - what more could you want.
